  Global Health Policy

Nurses and traditional healers affect the health of millions of people every year. They influence the lives of people who are experiencing vulnerability due to powerful change and transition due to health challenges. Nurses and healers are taught to use this power for good.

Leaders among nurses and healers are quite adept at running health systems often with minimal resources. And nurses and community healers have histories as trusted, public servants. Who better to design and implement global health policy and health care reform that is inclusive and complementary? The Bamboo Bridge Community encourages dialog about global health policy as it relates to the complementarity of nursing and healing traditions.

Primary Purpose:
Our purpose is to build a community of nurses and community healers who want to discuss the  policy issues associated with the complementarity of traditional healing systems and nursing practice.

Topics of Interest:

  • Policy related to implementing collaboration between Nurses and Traditional Healers (National and International)
  • Research related to Global Health Policy (Nurses and Traditional Healers)
  • Traditional Health Systems
  • Indigenous Knowledge Systems
  • Nursing in Cultural Context
